I started this triptych by simply applying gridwork of verticals and horizontals on color prepped cradled panels. What emerged was a cross... then cross roads...and finally Romans Road, the ultimate title and essential message.
This quote from my morning devotional struck me and played out each time I returned to the studio.
"It never works to ask people to do for you what only God can do. It never works to wait for God to do what He has clearly called you to do."

I applied colors and textures, steadily progressing from the solid foundation to the completed work. This development is a metaphor; what I learned as a child, the solid foundational gridwork of Biblical principles, grounds me. What I'm learning as I grow spiritually, defines and refines the layers of my daily work. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."(Proverbs 22:6)
