John 17:2-4 states, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” In this painting I have arranged eggs into the shape of a cross. The eggs are symbolic of life, and the cross is symbolic of Christ’s victory over death. The figure 8 in the center of the cross symbolizes eternity or an unending state of existence. I chose a limited palette of greens, blues and browns because they represent life to me – the colors of both earth and sky. Christ said, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:23-25)
