Emerging Elk – the Power of Hope is an abstract image of an elk head rising up from the background of three horizontal bands of greens and blues representing the earth, sea, and sky, overlaid with flowing lines of vibrant reds and oranges representing wind, energy, or a stirring force. There are multiple layers and a variety of hues on display in this piece. As in all of my work, there is heavy repetition of lines and shapes creating strong pattern. Ultimately, the powerful elk emanates from the life forces surrounding him and simultaneously bestows life to all he encounters.
