This painting's patterns and colors remind me of a stained glass window. Plus, it is flooded with religious symbolism. It takes me back to church! The largest in size and most visually imposing focal point of this piece is that of the Cup of Christ (symbolic of His blood shed on the Cross). Inside the Cup is the Cross of Christ, which is flanked by the two thieves’ crosses on the hill of Calvary. There are also three fish (three being the number denoting the Trinity, and the fish symbolizing Christianity) and a centrally located trefoil (again, referring to the Trinity). I hope you love Cup of Christ as much as I do. Psalm 116:13 - I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD (NIV).
