This little painting, created a few years ago, still serves as a reminder to me that we are made to be light. By that, I mean both lighthearted/unburdened and bright-shining / illuminating darkness. When we lay down our heavy concerns we feel lighter and shine brighter. "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:30)
